Gloucester Youth Leadership Council

The GYLC is a youth-led coalition that identifies priorities and selects strategies for social change. Students receive quality training in leadership skills, social justice, civic action, public health and other topics, particularly those that pertain to teen health, prevention and positive youth development.

Time and Commitment

Being part of the Gloucester Youth Leadership Council is a commitment. Teens are expected to attend club meetings and activities as well as volunteer in their community. A core part of the program is that teens take an active role in planning and facilitating club activities. Like many other youth programs the more time, effort and energy a teen puts into the Club the more they’ll receive back.
